Diet Pepsi hits the bull’s-eye at Target
Designer coasters complement a fashionable new can. To win with shopper moms at Target, and grow Diet Pepsi’s market share, we had just the idea to turn a typical in-store gift-with-purchase promotion into a whole new kind of sales driver. Enter designer Vern Yip – and his new design for the custom Diet Pepsi can. A perfect complement to the new can? A custom coaster, of course. We researched different material options and decoration techniques, then worked with one of our approved factories to create the coasters. Target rolled out the custom coasters nationally in 2,600 stores – and soon gained visibility in major publications such as Brandweek, Brand Channel and AdWeek, contributing to Diet Pepsi’s overall improvement in market share.
