For Garmin, a hole in one
Creating a golf watch – “the first device of its kind.” A China-based engineering firm specializing in motion capture relied on Lapine’s insights to study the consumer golf analysis technology space and determine the best way to market its products in the US golf market. Our recommendation: work with Garmin, an established brand – and long-time Lapine partner. The highly collaborative working relationship resulted in Lapine handling everything from technology exploration to contract negotiation, scope development and oversight of all deliverables. The product, the Garmin Approach S6, their lightest GPS golf watch to date, featured innovative Tempo Training and Swing Strength technologies. It was hailed as “the first device of its kind” (techguide.com) and “revolutionary” (Today’s Golfer). Nice approach shot.
