Locally made, quality products matter
- In a 2019 national survey on manufacturing, 55% of respondents said that U.S.-made products are of superior quality compared to products made in Asia or Central America.
- In April 2020, 64% of U.S. manufacturers reported that they are likely to bring manufacturing production and sourcing back to North America, up 10% from a March 2020 report.
- Nearly 72% of consumers say it’s important to support local businesses during the pandemic, according to a 2020 survey by Cotton Incorporated. 61% say they want to spend money in order to help reboot the economy.
- Consumers will be more mindful when shopping and spending during an unsure economy, which means “perceived value” in quality merchandise made locally will play an important role in driving purchases.
