Hina Wainwright appointed Vice Chair of TMS Hong Kong

The Marketing Society bolsters HK leadership with two new appointments

The Marketing Society has bolstered Hong Kong leadership with the appointments of Natalie Truong (pictured right), CMO AMEA & Partner, Mercer, as chair of the society’s Hong Kong hub and Hina Wainwright (pictured left), CMO, adm Group as vice chair. The appointments come as the society looks to further accelerate marketing leadership in the city and across the APAC region as they enter the post-pandemic era.

Truong and Wainwright will lead the society in Hong Kong, growing the community of senior marketing professionals, curating a programme of events, training, content, mentoring and more that provides opportunities to upskill senior marketing leaders and their teams - helping members to do well in their careers and to do good for brands, business, partners and wider society.

They will work alongside the non-executive board which includes Edward Bell, GM of brand, insights and marketing communications of Cathay Pacific; Nellie Chan, Google consumer solutions of Google HK; Karl Gregory, head of digital channel, sales and customer engagement of HSBC; Kiri Sinclair, founder and CEO of Sinclair and Seraphina Wong from Women Workplace Index and the ESG Consortium.

Truong is currently the CMO AMEA and Partner at Mercer where she is responsible for the strategic delivery of marketing capabilities across 15 markets in Asia, Middle East and Africa.  Her career has included leadership roles across B2C and B2B organisations in a variety of industries including professional services, financial services, superannuation and telecommunications in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.

Meanwhile, Wainwright is CMO at adm Group where she is responsible for leading global marketing transformation and strategy, primarily focusing on brand awareness, growth marketing, insights and innovation and customer experience. She has 20 years’ experience, including 11 years working in Asia within leading global organisations. She has worked in a variety of industries, including marketing services, life sciences, engineering and the arts.

Commenting on the appointments, outgoing chair Darren Chuckry, MD, Hong Kong Initiative, who has led the society for the past five years, said: “It has been an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be the chair of The Marketing Society Hong Kong. I will look back at the many sessions we have hosted and had the chance to connect with inspirational members who I have learned so much from and made lifelong friends along the way. I know I am leaving the society in great hands, with two outstanding marketing leaders who I have no doubt will do great things with the Society.”

Sophie Devonshire, CEO, The Marketing Society said The Marketing Society is on a mission to inspire, accelerate and unite the world’s leading marketers. Its role is to help them do well in their careers and do good in their organisations, the economy and the world.

“As we look towards exciting times ahead, we are delighted to have two formidable marketing leaders at the helm. Truong and Wainwright each have a wealth of rich experience, and are ready to steer new energy into our community,” she added.
