United Nations Day 2024: Celebrating Partnerships
As we mark the 79th anniversary of the UN Charter on United Nations Day 2024, it is essential to remind ourselves and our communities—both locally and globally—that we are in the Decade of Action. Accelerating our collective efforts toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 has never been more crucial.
At adm Group, we have been a proud signatory of the #UNGlobal Compact (UNGC) since 2016. This framework has continuously guided our approach to sustainability. Through regular stakeholder consultations, we have aligned our efforts with seven SDGs most relevant to our business: SDG 3, SDG 5, SDG 7, SDG 8, SDG 12, SDG 13, and SDG 17.
Celebrating partnerships
Sustainable Development Goal 17 'Partnerships for the Goals' emphasizes the importance of collaboration in safeguarding our planet, securing the global rights of people and honoring the very purpose of the United Nations.
At adm Group, partnerships are the cornerstone of our sustainability program ‘From Purpose to Impact.’ We continuously work together with valued business partners, clients, customers and external organizations to achieve significant milestones across our sustainable sourcing journey. Throughout 2023, adm Group was supported by #FairWage Network in becoming a certified Living Wage employer, making sure our employees globally earn a fair and decent wage. Furthermore, as an active member of the UN Global Compact community, we decided to publicly commit to the 'Forward Faster’ initiative in 2024, an effort to drive accelerated progress on key sustainability topics for our stakeholders.
Honoring human rights is important to us. Through our membership with #AIMProgress, we actively support multi-stakeholder initiatives aimed at advancing the global rights agenda. Additionally, our collaboration with #Ulula has enabled us to gain direct insights from workers in our value chain, helping us improve social impact standards through informed actions.
We are also grateful for our partnerships with #Anthesis and #HumanLevel, both of whom have played a pivotal role in advancing our goals in 2024 and beyond.
