Global supply chain management

The brief

The world needs less plastic and at adm we are committed to playing our part.  We partnered with a large alcohol brand that is aiming to be 100% plastic free by 2030, with zero plastic secondary packaging and plastic point-of-sale materials.

To help achieve this goal, adm was asked to eliminate single-use plastic packaging by 2022 in POSM global brand catalogs.

What we did

We embarked on a program to change suppliers’ ways of working to ensure no plastic was used at any point in the supply chain, managing a range of stakeholders and agencies to get their buy-in and support for the project.

We waved goodbye to shrink wrap and polybags and brought in tissue paper and honeycomb wrap - big on style with zero plastic.

Outcome

In April 2022 our client raised a glass and said ‘cheers’ to 100% plastic-free packaging.  This was celebrated alongside the achievement of having 73% of SKUs with no price impact.
